If you are having trouble signing in to your TV provider on your Amazon Fire TV or Amazon Fire Stick, you should first ensure you are properly signed out and then retry signing in. When you need to sign out of your TV provider on your device, follow the steps below:
- Launch the ABC app on your Amazon Fire TV/Fire Stick device
- Select Account
- Select TV Provider
- Select Sign Out
If you are having trouble signing out of your TV provider on your Amazon Fire TV/Fire Stick using these steps, try the following troubleshooting options:
- Update your Amazon Fire TV/Fire Stick app
- Clear your Amazon Fire TV/Fire Stick cache
- Uninstall and reinstall the ABC app
- Reboot your Amazon Fire TV/Fire Stick
Note: In addition to performing any of these troubleshooting measures, please ensure that you have a strong network connection and that your device has at least 2GB of free space.
Update your Amazon Fire TV/Fire Stick app
To successfully sign out of your TV provider on your device, first ensure that your Amazon Fire TV/Fire Stick app is running the latest supported version.
Note: In addition, please ensure that you update your Amazon Silk browser to the latest version.
To check if your Amazon Fire TV/Fire Stick app is updated:
- On the home screen, select Settings (indicated by the gear icon)
- Select My Fire TV
- Select About
- Select Check for Updates
Clear your Amazon Fire TV/Fire Stick cache
If, after manually checking for updates, you are still not able to sign out of your TV provider, you may need to clear your device’s cache.
To clear the cache on your device:
- On the home screen, select Settings (indicated by the gear icon)
- Select Applications
- Select Manage Installed Applications
- Locate and select the ABC app
- Select Force stop
- Select Clear cache
- Select Clear data
Uninstall and reinstall the ABC app
Once you’ve cleared your cache and confirmed that your device has the latest supported version of the Amazon Fire TV/Fire Stick app, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the ABC app on your Amazon Fire TV/Fire Stick device.
To uninstall the ABC app:
- On the home screen, select Settings (indicated by the gear icon)
- Select Applications
- Select Manage Installed Applications
- Locate and select the ABC app
- Select Force stop
- Select Clear cache
- Select Clear data
- Select and confirm Uninstall
To reinstall the ABC app:
- On the home screen, select the Find button
- Select Search
- Type “ABC” in the search bar
- Locate and select the ABC app
- Select Download
Reboot your Amazon Fire TV/Fire Stick
If the steps above do not resolve your issue, try rebooting your Amazon Fire TV/Fire Stick device.
To reboot your device:
- On the home screen, select Settings (indicated by the gear icon)
- Select My Fire TV
- Select System Restart
- Select and confirm Restart
